In most UAE villas and buildings, water does not reach the taps on mains pressure alone. Pumps move it from ground tanks to roof tanks, lift pressure for upper floors, drain sumps and circulate hot water. When a pump is the wrong size or badly installed, the result is weak showers, noisy pipework, constant cycling and early failure.

We supply and install water pumps for villas, residential buildings and commercial properties in all seven emirates, and we size each one for the job rather than fitting whatever is on the shelf.
Our water pump services
- Supply and installation of new and replacement pumps, covered on this page.
- Water pump repair for pumps that leak, cycle, lose pressure, make noise or will not start.
- Booster pumps and pressure systems for villas and buildings that need better water pressure.
- Water pump maintenance to keep pumps running reliably and catch wear early.
Types of water pumps we supply and install
Transfer pumps
Transfer pumps lift water from a ground or underground tank to a roof tank. They are usually controlled by float switches in both tanks: one starts the pump when the roof tank is low, the other stops it if the ground tank runs dry.

Booster pumps
Booster pumps raise pressure to the taps, either from a roof tank or directly from a ground tank. They range from a single pump with a pressure vessel to multi-pump sets with variable-speed drives. See booster pumps for detail.
Submersible pumps
Submersible pumps sit inside a tank, sump or pit. They are used to empty tanks, transfer water where a surface pump is not practical, and handle drainage in basements and pits.
Centrifugal and circulation pumps
Surface-mounted centrifugal pumps cover many general transfer and pressure duties. Smaller circulation pumps move water around hot water loops, solar water heating circuits and heating systems, so hot water reaches distant taps quickly.
Choosing the right pump
Two numbers matter most when sizing a pump.
Flow rate is how much water the pump needs to move, usually in litres per minute or cubic metres per hour. It depends on how many outlets may run at the same time. A villa with four bathrooms, a kitchen, laundry and garden taps needs far more flow than an apartment.
Head is the height and resistance the pump must overcome, expressed in metres. It includes the vertical lift from the pump to the highest outlet or tank, the friction of the pipework and fittings, and the pressure you want at the taps.
A pump is chosen so that its performance curve delivers the required flow at the required head. Too small, and pressure collapses when two showers run. Too large, and the pump cycles constantly, wastes energy and can cause water hammer.
Other choices follow from there:
- Single-phase or three-phase power, depending on the pump size and the supply available
- Fixed speed or variable speed (VFD) control: variable speed holds a steady pressure and reduces energy use where demand varies
- Single pump or duty/standby, where a second pump takes over if the first fails, which suits buildings that cannot be without water
- Materials suitable for drinking water, such as stainless steel pump bodies and impellers
- Noise, especially where pumps sit near bedrooms or neighbours
What a proper pump installation includes
A good pump can still perform badly if it is installed poorly. A complete installation covers:

- a solid, level base with anti-vibration mounts to limit noise
- isolation valves on both sides, so the pump can be removed without draining the system
- a non-return valve to stop water flowing back
- correctly sized suction pipework, kept as short and straight as practical
- a pressure vessel and pressure switch, or a VFD with pressure sensor, for booster duties
- float switches or level controls on tanks
- dry-run protection, so the pump stops if water runs out
- a suitable electrical supply, isolator and control panel, with overload protection (see electrical services if the supply needs upgrading)
After installation, the pump is primed, run through its operating cycle, and checked for pressure, current draw, leaks and noise.
Pump placement in UAE conditions
Many villa pumps sit outdoors or in small enclosures that become very hot in summer. Heat shortens motor life and can trip overloads. Where possible, pumps should be shaded and ventilated, protected from direct sun and rain, and placed where they can be reached for maintenance.
Suction conditions matter too. A pump drawing from a tank should have its inlet below the water level where possible, or be a self-priming type. Long suction runs and undersized suction pipes cause cavitation, a common cause of noise and impeller damage.
How supply and installation works
- Survey. We check the tanks, existing pump and pipework, number of floors and outlets, and the electrical supply. Surveys are free within Dubai. Outside Dubai, the AED 250 site-visit charge applies and is deducted from the job if you go ahead.
- Recommendation and quote, specifying pump type, size, controls and installation work.
- Installation, including removal of the old pump if needed.
- Commissioning and handover, with settings explained. Our work carries a 1-month workmanship warranty, and new parts carry the manufacturer’s warranty, subject to the manufacturer’s terms. Where applicable, we register the manufacturer’s warranty for you after installation.
What affects the cost
- pump type, size and brand
- single pump or duty/standby set
- controls: pressure switch, pressure vessel or VFD
- pipework and valve changes
- electrical work and control panels
- access to the pump location and removal of the old unit
Brands
We supply and install pumps from a wide range of trusted pump brands, installed to European-standard plumbing practice. If you have a preferred brand or an existing model to match, let us know.
Pump supply and installation across the UAE
We supply and install water pumps in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. Our office is in Al Khabaisi, Dubai. Replacing an existing pump
When a pump fails beyond economical repair, a like-for-like replacement is the quickest route, but it is worth checking first whether the old pump was right for the job. Signs that it was not include frequent cycling, weak pressure on upper floors, repeated seal failures, or a motor that ran hot.
A replacement is also a chance to add what the original installation lacked, such as dry-run protection, a correctly sized pressure vessel, anti-vibration mounts or isolation valves that make future servicing easier. Where the pump sits in direct sun, a simple shade or enclosure with ventilation can extend the new pump’s life. If you are not sure whether to repair or replace, start with water pump repair and we will advise.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know what size pump I need?
It depends on how many outlets run at once and how high the water must be lifted. We calculate both during the survey.
Can I replace my pump with the same model?
Often, yes, if the original was correctly sized. If the old pump struggled, it is worth reassessing rather than repeating the problem.
Is a variable-speed pump worth it?
For villas and buildings with varying demand, variable speed gives steadier pressure, less noise and lower energy use, though it costs more upfront.
Why does my pump need dry-run protection?
Running without water destroys seals and impellers within minutes. Dry-run protection stops the pump automatically if the supply tank empties.
Can you install a pump for a solar water heater?
Yes. Forced circulation solar systems use a small circulation pump controlled by a solar controller.
